Mother Trees: A Supportive, Local Group for Moms

From “What Mother Trees Can Teach Us” on One Tree Planted

You may have seen a few posts on the Eastside Kids Instagram or Facebook Group about Mother Trees, but I wanted to give it an official spot on the website!

Mother Trees is a local group based in Grosse Pointe, Michigan for Moms in all ages and stages. Their goal is to be a safe and inclusive space for all mothers to connect, share resources, learn, and feel seen in the transformative portal that is parenthood. They aim to do this by following the example Mother Trees set in nature – showing us what’s possible when we as individuals are rooted, resourced, and connected to those around us, sharing resources and caring for our communities (and ourselves).

Mother Trees does a few different things:

  • Mother Trees hosts bi-weekly gatherings that include mothers’ sharing circles, mindfulness activities, and amazing guest speakers.
  • Mother Trees has a growing lending library to share with parents in the area. You can join them at a gathering or email them at mothertrees313@gmail.com if you’re looking to borrow a book!
  • They have also published an ever-evolving Resource List that provides resources (local, national, and global) for parents in the area. It includes local pediatricians, birthing hospitals, midwives, infant day care options, and other parenting resources.

Their bi-weekly gatherings are starting back up on Wednesday, October 15 at their new location in downtown Grosse Pointe (The Village)! You can view their website here, follow them on Instagram or Facebook, or contact them at mothertrees313@gmail.com.
