Why It Matters
By hosting Opt Outside in Detroit’s own backyard, we’re encouraging guests to rediscover the joy of being in nature, even in an urban setting. These experiences help children form lifelong connections to the environment, strengthen community ties and remind all of us that conservation doesn’t have to start in a rainforest. It can start with one walk, one question or one quiet moment spent in nature.
