This September, join Ford House and our friends at Bricks of Hope for a joyful, hands-on Storytime adventure! Each week, we’ll share Iggy Peck, Architect by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts—a delightful tale about a young dreamer who turns his passion for building into something extraordinary.
After the story, it’s time to get creative! Bricks of Hope will lead children in designing their own wild and wonderful structures, using building bricks to stretch their imaginations and spark new ideas.
Book of the Month
Iggy Peck, Architect
Iggy has one passion: architecture. His parents are proud of his fabulous creations, though they’re sometimes surprised by his materials. But hey! What’s wrong with a tower built of diapers? (Even dirty ones!) Picture Dear Ig has it made until second grade. That’s when he meets his match. His teacher, Miss Lila Greer, frons upon architecture. Banned from building in school, second grade becomes a bore until one day a fateful field trip lets Iggy Peck show the world his true talents!
Bricks of Hope
Bricks of Hope is a nonprofit that brings smiles to children facing serious illness by delivering new LEGO® sets during their hospital stays. Throughout the month of September, Ford House will be collecting donations of new, unopened LEGO® sets of all sizes and for all age groups. Every donated set will be shared with a child at a Michigan hospital, helping to brighten their day through the power of play.

This free, family-friendly program is perfect for children ages 7 and under. Storytime takes place in a relaxed, welcoming environment that encourages creativity and exploration.
