SUMMARY:HORSE: A Game for Everyone @ 1001 Woodward
DESCRIPTION:Library Street Collective is excited to announce HORSE: A Game for Everyone by artist Tyrrell Winston\, supported by Bedrock Detroit. Opening to the public on August 1\, 2025\, this dynamic installation transforms the boundaries between sport\, art\, and community participation. \nHORSE reimagines the basketball court as a site of creativity\, memory\, and public engagement. Inspired by Winston’s signature use of found and culturally charged materials\, this interactive experience invites visitors to engage with art through motion\, reflection\, and play. Central to the installation is a sculptural “hoop tree” that reimagines the familiar form of the basketball hoop into a sprawling\, seven-armed tree supporting 21 hoops at varying heights\, angles\, and orientations. Part monument\, part playground\, the work invites direct engagement\, encouraging visitors to step into the space\, pick up a ball\, and play. \nImage Source

DESCRIPTION:Join us  for an afternoon of board gaming with your friends\, family\, and neighbors. Board gaming has always been a great way to have fun while also encouraging critical thinking and problem solving. \nAt this event we will provide a selection of classic and modern board games that will range from simple and family friendly to complex and intricate. We will have well seasoned hobbyists on hand who will be able to help select the perfect game for you\, teach you all the rules\, and help walk you through a couple of turns. We can even help match you up with other attendees\, so no need to come with your own gaming group. \nExamples of games that we will have available include: Splendor\, Azul\, Kingdomino\, Dominion\, Carcassonne\, Flamecraft\, Gizmos\, Acquire and many more! And of course\, if you’re already an avid gamer\, feel free to bring some of your own games to play as well! \nThis is an all ages program.
