DESCRIPTION:Throughout 2025\, we’re bringing you Sensory-Friendly Hours — a monthly opportunity to experience the Zoo with adjusted lighting and quieter surroundings.\nThese special hours\, hosted once a month from opening until noon\, are tailored to meet the needs of guests with sensory sensitivities and different sensory needs. During this time\, the Zoo and its attractions remain open to all\, with thoughtful adjustments to ensure everyone can enjoy a welcoming and accessible experience. \nWhat to expect:\n\nReduced or altered volume and lighting throughout the Zoo and at special attractions\nLimited effects and adjusted lighting in the 4D Theater\nKultureCity sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones\, fidget tools and verbal cue cards will be available to guests who may feel overwhelmed by the environment. More than 500 dazzling displays and millions of LED lights guide you through a trail filled with wonder\, warmth\, sound and surprise. \nWhether it’s a bundled-up family outing\, a cheerful date night\, a gathering with friends or simply a moment to breathe in the beauty of winter\, this event offers something meaningful for anyone who experiences it. \nWhen is Wild Lights happening in the 2025/26 season? \nNovember: 22\, 23\, 28-30 \nDecember: 5-7\, 11-23\, 26-31 \nJanuary: 2-4 \nFridays and Saturdays: 5 – 10:30 p.m.\nAll other days: 5 – 9 p.m. \nNote: Although January 2 (Friday) and January 3 (Saturday) are weekend dates\, Wild Lights will close at 9:00 p.m. instead of the usual 10:30 p.m. \nImage Source

The path continues through the Formal Garden and above the Rose Garden\, offering beautiful winter views. Along the way\, trees\, gardens\, and historic buildings sparkle with lights\, and the Christmas train circles inside the Recreation Building. \nInside the Main Residence\, explore the first floor at your own pace\, adorned with Eleanor Ford’s signature understated holiday elegance. Afterward\, visit Santa’s station in the original laundry room for a smile and photo. \nThe route then winds along Maple Lane through towering trees and past the quiet Meadow before returning to the Visitor Center.
