DESCRIPTION:That’s not a typo you see\, this Sunday is all about the “Superb Owls” of Michigan! Celebrate today by learning all about Michigan’s amazing owl species. Dissect an owl pellet\, make owl themed crafts\, then go for a walk on our trails in search of our resident park owls. After our walk\, there will be a presentation on how to interact with and keep owls safe in wild spaces\, as well as how to provide owl-friendly habitats in your backyard. \nWhat to Expect:\nThis family-friendly program takes place indoors and outdoors. Participants will take a short\, guided outdoor hike on compact gravel trails with plenty of time for exploration and questions. From working on the nest and feeding their young to the young birds working on their flying skills\, come each month to discover these changes over time. Interpreters will be available for questions and to help you find a good view of these majestic birds. For an even better view\, bring your binoculars or cameras. The nature center will supply a limited number of binoculars for use. \nWhat to Expect:\nThis program is entirely outdoors. Expect to walk about .5 mile on a flat\, paved surface. The planned path is grass or lawn\, mostly flat and level. We will meet at the nature center and walk to the eagle nest viewing spot on the bike-hike path. Please let us know if you need mobility assistance. \nPre-registration is not required. \nAges: Fun for all ages! DESCRIPTION:Join us for a crafty afternoon sipping hot cocoa by the fire. Relax with some holiday music as you create unique ornaments made from natural materials. We’ll provide the instructions; you provide the creativity! \nWhat to Expect:\nThis program takes place entirely indoors. \nAges: 6 and up.
